Hess.Oldendorf, September 25, 2019 – ARCHEA New Energy GmbH, a provider of complete biogas plant solutions, hereby announces the construction of its first biogas plant in Uruguay, near Montevideo.
Planning, construction, and service are carried out by the Brazilian subsidiary, ARCHEA América Latina, based in Pomerode/Santa Catarina.
The substrate consists of the manure from dairy sheep, whey, and feed residues from sheep cheese production. The biogas plant, with its peak capacity of 250 kW, is designed to deliver electricity and heat according to demand, ensuring self-sufficient energy supply for the entire operation, even in the event of a power outage in the public grid.
After fermentation in the 2000 m3 digester, the digestate is used as organic fertilizer on the agricultural land, thus reducing the need for mineral fertilizers.
Overall, approximately 7,000 tons of CO2 are saved through the avoidance of methane emissions and the generation of renewable energy!
